Rice is the staple food for half the world's population. Grown in Asia, and more particularly in Thailand, this naturally fragrant rice is called Jasmine for its unique white colour. 

It is in the Thai rice fields that it will develop its floral aromas, as delicate as those of jasmine. And when cooked, you will be surprised by the floral notes that emanate from it and which allow it to distinguish itself from other varieties of rice.

Jasmine rice is therefore a rice with a delicate flavour, which means that it can be combined with many foods and prepared in many different ways. Sautéed, fried, steamed or even baked, don't hesitate to redouble your imagination in order to highlight all its nutritional and gustatory qualities. 

How to cook rice properly? 

While it has become a commonplace gesture, cooking rice is in fact an art that Asians master to perfection. Here are some tips on how to cook rice the Asian way:  

  1. Before cooking your rice it is very important to rinse it well, both for sanitary reasons but also to remove the starch and prevent the rice from sticking after and during cooking.    
  2. Once your rice has been rinsed, take a pan and for every 1 dose of rice add 2 doses of water.
  3. Bring to the boil and once the water has almost evaporated, turn down the heat to minimum for 10-15 minutes (depending on the time indicated on the box) so that the rice dries and swells.  
  4. Once the rice is cooked, leave it to rest for ten minutes or so, then season it before eating.
