Schani’s yellow split lentils are the epitome of healthy, light, comfort food. Yellow split lentils stew is the holy grail dish for Indians! And also an antidote from the Indian subcontinent to anyone feeling a bit under the weather. Our yellow mung dal – a ray of sunshine on your plate!

- 100% authentic yellow mung dal

- Relish their sweet, nutty flavour & soft texture

- Perfect for velvety purees, soups, stews, dips & more

- Scrumptious source of protein, minerals, iron & folate

- Suitable for vegans and vegetarians

Shape & Flavour: Mung dal is a split and washed mung bean looking like a small, plump, yellow split pea. It has a mild, sweet flavour with a soft texture that can be easily disintegrated or mashed. Split petite yellow lentils – but great taste!

Versatile Usage: These sweet and nutty lentils are very common in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, and the key to classic comforting dishes like Indian dal lentil stew. In Indian cuisine, our yellow lentils are also made into pastes and deep-fried to make spiced fritters, savoury pancakes and even delicious sweets! They have a soft texture and get mushy easily, which makes them the ideal ingredient for soups, purees and stews. Or use these lentils to make fancy dips, pâtés or spreads for your snacking!

Nourishing & Stimulating: Our yellow lentils are full of proteins and bright flavours. Yellow lentils are an all-rounder as they are a rich source of iron, folate, essential minerals and dietary fibre in addition to their proteins and amino acid profile.

Cooking Time: Cook your lentils for 15 to 25 minutes or more – depending on how soft you want them. Please note that all lentils need to be washed and rinsed thoroughly under running water prior to cooking.

Storage: Like any dried bean, yellow lentils should be kept in an airtight, dry container in the pantry or another cool, dark spot.
